Summer 2007

What can I say? No updates in forever then two in a row! Whoa! :-) So we took off on an incredibly enjoyable, yet brief, family vacation. Five days and four nights at a little beach on the east coast of Florida called Indialantic. It's south of Cocoa Beach and Melbourne and a cool little "old Florida" style town. It's still mainly residential, NO high rises. NICE! We stayed at a place called Tuckaway Shores. The place is fantastic. Friendly, affordable, comfortable and right on the beach. We went over on Thursday morning, went to Kennedy Space Center on Friday for the day, hung out at the beach on Saturday and Sunday then Monday on the way back to Tampa we stopped at a zoo. Kennedy was probably more interesting to Steve and I than to the kids. No pics from there....couldn't take them as good as the ones they have on their website anyway. But it was great.

Saturday morning was the launch of the Titan rocket taking off to Mars. We set the alarm and got up to watch. The kids were thrilled to be awakened at 5:15am. (Note sarcasm.) Stood out on the balcony and watched the blast off. Amazing....the sky lit up orange and after about 70 seconds we started feeling the shock waves and hearing the rumble.

The surf was rough and Abby got slammed into a shell bed a time or two. That immediately drove her out of the water and to the safety of the sand........until Papa took her out and taught her how to tackle the waves and bounce above them. After a bit there was no getting her out of the water. We're definitely going back to Tuckaway Shores. It's a truly wonderful place.

Yep, I know, lots of pictures and several of the same thing. Digital SLR is addictive. :-)
